This project is a tactile memoir of migration, memory, and belonging—stitched together with the fragile yet resilient threads of my journey across the ocean. At its heart lies the **handcrafted wooden boat** my grandfather gifted me, a vessel carved with his silent prayers for my safe passage as I left home to study abroad. This embroidery project maps my migration journey through tactile memories and family sentiments.
In London, these stitches extend into community—I host indigo-stitch workshops where friends from around the world imprint their stories onto cloth. The indigo vat mirrors my journey: like the resilient plant, migrants develop new roots while carrying old hues.
