We Weave our Wolds around Us

My project presents weaving as a technique of continuous making and reshaping within spaces. Creating a fluid, fragile and temporary fabric between the “closed” and “brittle” form. It involves creating a temporary installation that examines the dialogue between permanent structures and transient, adaptable forms.
This is best embodied in the form of the spider. The weaver. The spider sits in an environment, it can create a structure out of little. It will find branches, shelves, cracks and other fixed structures. And it builds its web, its impermanent, constantly changing, fragile web. It’s making has little to do with permanence and more with connecting and creating a space in between.
Taking from architectural archetypes to then make frames for looms on. Using the pre-existing as a starting point to re-examine and change spaces through weaving.
