Support, Reversed

We often think of support as something structural. A system that holds weight, stays firm but keeps still. But what about the weight we can’t see?
This work makes emotional pressure visible. Through a speculative interaction between body, sound, and object, it imagines a table-like structure that responds. A human moves through different emotional states and emits subtle signals, like breath, pulse, or tension, which are captured and translated into a spectrogram: a visual trace of presence. In response, the fabric beneath the object trembles, yields, adjusts. Not because it has to, but as if it’s listening.
Though built like a tool, the object doesn’t behave like one. Its movement is delayed and sensitive. Mechanical in origin, but emotional in intent. It reacts softly, as if sensing something just beneath the surface.
Here, support is redefined. Not as strength or stability, but as sensitivity. A way to register emotional weight without needing to solve it. The film doesn’t offer answers. Instead, it externalizes something we often carry in silence: the invisible pressure of feeling.
