La-Z-01
‘La-Z-01’ is more than automation—it embraces lazy behaviour by handling small annoyances during rest. This version of the robot for laziness detects the natural act of opening the mouth as a command. It autonomously offers water, following the user’s face and delivering it without manual effort. In this way, only the ‘outcome of the action’ is driven by the human. At the same time, the ‘process’ is performed by the robot. This system explores how to justify and support laziness, acting as a relaxation assistant that allows users to rest more efficiently by taking over the small, effortful parts of resting.
