No.6 is a modular, freestanding tower system designed to restore lost nesting habitats for swifts through behaviour-based design. Unlike swift bricks—limited by weak policy support—or swift boxes, which are few in number and difficult to monitor, No.6 offers over 200 downward-facing cavities equipped with audio lures and embedded sensors. These enable efficient attraction and data collection, addressing long-standing issues in swift conservation. Sculptural and scalable, No.6 units are installed in urban green spaces, integrating ecological function with architectural presence and digital infrastructure. It transforms nesting into a visible, intelligent, and public act of urban repair. More than just a structure for birds, No.6 is a speculative proposal for multispecies coexistence—one that invites us to reimagine the urban sky as a space not solely owned by humans, but shared with those who soar above us.
