An Archive of Almosts.
This might be meaningful later
Some things have more permanence in our lives whilst others float in and out. I lose things all the time, and its fine, if they’re meant to come back, they will. However there is a difference between unconscious loss and neglect. Both happen, and both matter. I care about peoples once integral moments and ‘things’, personal and culturally, that have now slipped through or could be forgotten. This project was about becoming a means of collection for loss, embodied in a moving archive and a timeless character. A safe-keeper of these moments we don't want to lose.
‘How do you tell a story in the absence of writing? Well, what you do is you make the landscape a novel.[..] I don’t need a book to remember […]. I just have to return
to the spot to let the landscape tell me what the story is’
