Post_Industrial_Ornaments
This body of work reimagines traditional ironwork through the lens of standardised industrial production and distribution. Drawing on historical motifs seen in the V&A Ironworks collection, the pieces are constructed entirely from materials readily available to the casual maker, reflecting on the shift from skilled local craftsmanship to mass retail supply. By transforming utilitarian components and scrap metal into sculptural forms, the work questions ideas of authenticity, value, and accessibility in design. The project invites viewers to reconsider objects - their origins, their making, and their place in everyday life.
