Known Spaces, Unknown Risks
In spaces we know well, like our homes, we often overlook potential risks. Familiarity can lead to a false sense of security, causing us to ignore both obvious and subtle dangers. This project sheds light on the tangible and intangible risks present in everyday environments, those that could harm us now or in the future. By raising awareness, it encourages reflection on how our behaviors may contribute to risk. The goal is to shift our perception of safety in habitual settings, prompting more mindful decision-making and fostering a deeper understanding of the environments we move through every day. It serves as a provocation to encourage people to confront overlooked risks woven into daily life. Familiar objects are reframed to reflect personal anxieties. Investigating risk requires both awareness and imagination. This blend of design and reflection promotes a more human-centered understanding of risk and its many forms.
