The Egg Exchange
This project was inspired by some illegal adverts for the sale of ova (eggs). We raised a question: as the egg industry develops, will egg trafficking become a more common business practice? Women's eggs are broken down, screened, priced and eventually circulated on the market. In such a system, the identity of 'woman' is gradually dissolved and replaced by 'egg donor', 'gene provider' or 'reproductive resource'. I hope to stimulate the audience to think and discuss about reproductive rights, women's identity and the ethics of science and technology
